Ruth M. Dawson, of the 500 block of Waters Road, died Dec. 10, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Dawson was born in Bertie County, N.C. She was a member of Samuel Chapel Holiness Church, Moyock.
Survivors include two daughters, Vernice Small and Angela Langley, both of Chesapeake; six sons, James R. Dawson, Eddie R. Dawson, Elton A. Dawson and Oscar Dawson, all of Chesapeake and John M. Dawson and Ervin E. Dawson, both of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Lillie Jones of Norfolk and Pastor Rosa Brown of Chesapeake; 30 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and one stepson, John Thomas Spence.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Samuel Chapel Holiness Church by Elder Little Joe Powell Jr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Friends may join the family at the residence.
