BUSINESS BRIEFS - PORTSMOUTH

EXPANDING

G&E Professional Temp Service and Network Marine Services, owned and operated by Gwendolyn and Ernest Bray, have moved from the 600 block of High Street to 718 High St.

G&E moved to Portsmouth from Virginia Beach in January to enable expansion of the business, which specializes in management, clerical and light industrial assignments.

The Brays formed Network Marine Services this year. The company has contracts to clean military and cruise ships.

The ship-cleaning company employs about 700 people, about 90 percent of them Portsmouth residents.

The office is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Telephone: 398-0647.

OPENINGS

Add One Inc., an employee leasing and temporary service, has opened in the penthouse offices at 600 Crawford St.

Carol McKenna, president, said the business is ``designed to meet the needs of small and start-up businesses in Hampton Roads.''

Aside from the traditional temporary services, Add One is offering long-term employee leasing, McKenna said.

The company, she said, offers small businesses ``access to personnel, payroll, accounting and office management systems.''

Add One is open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Telephone: 399-8822.

Casino Club, a restaurant/night club, has opened at 4010 George Washington Highway.

The club bills itself as ``the most elegant yet casual restaurant night club in Tidewater.''

Open from 3 p.m. until 2 a.m. Tuesday-Sunday, the restaurant serves Italian cuisine. Beginning at 9 p.m., a disc jockey provides music.

Telephone: 397-5360.

The Gallery Grill will open at 308 High St. in a space formerly occupied by My Lady lingerie shop sometime around the first of the year.

Sam Mandaleris, who owns and runs Pop's Kabobs at Portside, is the owner.

One entire wall of the grill will be devoted to the artwork of students at the Tidewater Community College Institute of Art. The food will cater to TCC students and Children's Museum patrons. by CNB
