George W. Webb, 85, of the 1500 block of Stratford St., a retired custodian, died Dec. 15, 1994, in his home.
Mr. Webb was born in Arcola, N.C. He retired from the Portsmouth city public school system at I.C. Norcom High School, was a member, deacon and member of the men's class of the Sunday School of Olive Branch Baptist Church and was the widower of Jane Webb.
Survivors include two daughters, Lillie M. Williams (Roses) and Donna J. Jordan, both of Portsmouth; a brother, Harry Webb of Raleigh, N.C.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two nieces; two nephews; and a host of family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday in Olive Branch Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. J.B. Sharp. Burial will be in Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Sunday. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
