Continental Airlines is eliminating direct flights from Norfolk to Baltimore starting Jan. 10. Airline officials said the route isn't profitable enough to sustain one flight a day, let alone the four it's been flying. Continental swept into Norfolk International Airport with its ``peanuts'' fares in October 1993 and began offering $89 one-way, direct flights to Baltimore last December. The airline also will cut temporarily two of its four Norfolk-to-Boston flights. Those flights should resume in March or April, an airline manager said. by CNB
