Christmastime. What a wonderful, happy time of the year, with parties and the many things that go with the season. We exchange gifts and sing carols.
Our military men and women for many years have given our nation many gifts - their lives given to protect our freedom. The carol, ``Silent Night,'' brings a lump in my throat as I reflect on one visit to the Vietnam Wall. Looking at the 58,000 plus names, I heard someone humming ``Silent Night.''
The thought came to me that these brave ones also lay ``silent tonight.'' We will always be grateful to those who gave the greatest gift to our nation. God bless them.
