GOPAC NOT `SPECIAL-INTEREST'

``Gingrich has already changed D.C.'' (news, Nov. 25) referred to GOPAC, the Republican political-action committee.

GOPAC (Grand Old Party Action Committee) was founded by Gov. Pete duPont in 1979 as an educational organization to train people at the local, state and national levels for participation in political activity. To equate GOPAC with political-action committees set up by special-interest groups to funnel money to politicians is yet another example of radical left bias in the media.

The writer, in a gratuitous attack on Gingrich, assumes as fact a premise that seems to support his position. Is it any wonder that people hold the media in such low esteem?
