Michael William Tytus, 83, of the 9400 block of Willow Court, a retired master chief, died Dec. 15, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mr. Tytus was born in Jersey City, N.J. He retired from the Navy after 30 years and was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Fleet Reserve and the Polish American Association of Tidewater Virginia.
Survivors include his wife, Claire Goscienski Tytus; a daughter, Judith Tytus Terwilliger of St. Petersburg, Fla.; a son, Robert Michael Tytus of Painter, Va.; five grandchildren, Misa, Thomas, Tracy, Laura and Josh; and a great-grandchild, Charlie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by Father Lou Ruoff. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Arlington National Cemetery. A Christian wake service and a Fleet Reserve service will be held at 7 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, where the family will remain to receive friends until 9 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Catholic School.
