CRIME LINE

Local police are asking public assistance in solving these cases:

CHESAPEAKE

On Sept. 8, 1993, the body of Robert Andrew Neal was found in Bowers Hill.

Neal was last seen that Labor Day weekend.

His girlfriend was preparing to file a missing person report when police found Neal dead.

Neal was known to frequent local bars and hotels in Portsmouth. He and his friends were known to be on the streets at all hours of the night.

VIRGINIA BEACH

A small airfield in Pungo has been the site of burglaries on two recent weekends.

On Nov. 25 and again on Dec. 2, the storage shed and airplanes at the Pungo airfield in the 1500 block of Princess Anne Road were broken into.

Among the items taken were a Panasonic phone, an airplane battery, several cases of aircraft oil, a compass, and gasoline.

Two airplanes also were damaged.

PORTSMOUTH

On Oct. 15, at 8:17 p.m., police and emergency personnel were sent to 3610 Academy Ave., where a vehicle had struck a house.

Rescue personnel found the driver, Duane Edward Davis, 34, still in the car.

He had been shot several times and had apparently passed out behind the wheel.

Davis was pronounced dead at the scene.

A pedestrian who had been hit by the car was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for a broken leg.

Investigators have very little information and have not been able to determine where the shooting occurred. by CNB
