Geraldine Matthews Cross, 69, of the 1000 block of Martin Ave., died Sunday, Dec. 18, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Cross was a native of Sampson County, N.C. She had retired from City of Portsmouth as a chancery clerk. She was a member of Cottage Place United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband, James Aubrey Cross; two daughters, R. Diane Cross of Chesapeake and Gayle C. Lemieux and her husband, Daniel W. of Chesapeake; a son, James Steven Cross of Glen Allen, Va.; three sisters, Eunice M. Starling, Lettie M. McPhail and Beatrice M. Carroll, all of Autryville, N.C.; and a brother, Richard B. Matthews of Autryville.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Cottage Place United Methodist Church by the Rev. James D. Thomas. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Cottage Place UMC Building Fund.
