Lucille Griffin Britt, age 83, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 1994, at John Randolph Hospital, Hopewell.
Born in Sussex County, she was the daughter of the late Kenny G. and Addie Clark Griffin. She had retired as head of the Housekeeping Department of John Randolph Hospital. She was a member of the Enon Baptist Church, Chester, and was the mother of the late Terry Mason Wills. She was the widow of Joseph Britt.
She is survived by one sister, Blanche G. Mellinger of San Diego, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Dorothea Britt Burnham of Hopewell and Gladys Britt Daniels of Ocala, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1994, at 1 p.m. in Wakefield Cemetery by the Rev. Emmett D. Dunnevant. The family will receive friends at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Enon Baptist Church, 1801 Bermuda Hundred Road, Chester, Va. 23831.
