MARY C. HAMBERRY

Mary Celia Hamberry, of the 3300 block of Indian River Road, died Dec. 17, 1994, in Virginia Beach General Hospital.

She was born in Princess Anne County and was a deputy sheriff with the City of Virginia Beach. She was a member of Mount Zion AME Church, the Usher Board and Beautification Club and Order of Eastern Star Rosetta Chapter (NU)119.

Survivors include her husband, William Hamberry; five daughters, Gladys H. Hughes, Shirley H. Darden, Doris L. Cason, Carolyn D. Hamberry and Brenda L. Hamberry, all of Virginia Beach; a sister, Alcora Wilson and a brother, William C. Cooper, both of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mount Zion AME Church by the Rev. Larry Hinton. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
