John Titus Blanchard, 97, a retired farmer, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 1994, in a Raleigh, N.C., hospital.
Mr. Blanchard was born in Gates County. The son of the late Thomas and Mrs. Marinda Hobbs Blanchard, he was the husband of the late Edith Baker Blanchard, who died in July of this year after 69 years of marriage.
Surviving are two sons, J. Gilbert Blanchard of Hobbsville and Elliott J. ``Jack'' Blanchard of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren, Marinda B. Eure of Gatesville, David R. Blanchard of Raleigh, Johnny A. Blanchard of Hobbsville, Paul R. Blanchard of High Point, Mark R. Blanchard of Durham and Brian A. Blanchard of Hobbsville; three great-grandchildren, Kevin Baker Eure of Gatesville, Alexander Pierce Blanchard of High Point and Sarah Annette Blanchard of Hobbsville.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Miller Funeral Home by Dr. Terry Jones. Burial will follow in Hobbsville Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may join the family today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gates County Rescue Squad.
