Dorothy Shoemaker Marks, 61, of the 4700 block of Post Oak Drive, an administrative assistant, died Dec. 19, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Mrs. Marks was born in Hamilton, Ohio. She was employed with E.L. Hamm and Associates. She was a Protestant. She lived with her husband for two years in Moscow, where he served as Assistant Naval Attache from 1975 to 1977.
Survivors include her husband, Lt. Col. Roy M. Marks, USMC, Ret., of Virginia Beach; two sons, Aaron B. Marks of Oceanside, Calif., and Timothy Charles Marks of North Miami Beach, Fla.; and one granddaughter, Kristina Marks of Oceanside, Calif.
Funeral services and burial will be private. The family will be at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, on Wednesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Chapter of the American Cancer Society and Virginia Beach SPCA.
