Mr. William Edward Corl Sr., age 80, a resident of Waverly, died on Dec. 19, 1994, at Southside Regional Medical Center in Petersburg. Mr. Corl was a native of Sussex County and was the son of the late Harry Edgar and Della Noon Corl. He was a member of Newville Baptist Church and retired after 32 years as the owner of Corls Auto Service in Waverly.
He is survived by his wife, Nellie Bulls Corl; a daughter, Della May Corl of Waverly; a son, William E. Corl Jr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Dorothy Mae Bulls of Cheaspeake; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Wednesday, Dec. 21, 1994, at 3 p.m by the Rev. Ron E. Sowers. Burial will be in Waverly Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Waverly Volunteer Rescue Squad.
