After three months of construction and weather delays, the closed right lane of the Monitor Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel on I-664 will open today - but only during rush hours.
Only one northbound lane has been open since the bridge was damaged by runaway barges Sept. 22. The right lane will remain closed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily while repairs continue. Construction is expected to be complete in January at a cost of at least $3 million, transportation officials say.
State Department of Transportation officials said Monday that the right shoulder will remain closed and that commuters should drive carefully in the northbound lanes. by CNB
