JUNE M. DAVIS

On the evening of Dec. 19, 1994, June Murray Davis of the 3700 block of Garfield Ave., was called to rest in her Father.

June began her journey among us on June 14, 1933 as the daughter of the late Dr. Edward W. Murray and Mrs. Thelma L. Murray of Norfolk. She attended the public schools of Norfolk, graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1949, attended Howard University and graduated from Bennett College in Greensboro, N.C. After working for a few years in Buffalo, N.Y., she returned to Norfolk and began a career with the Social Services Department from which she retired in 1991. She was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

June was joined in marriage to John S. Davis of Norfolk on Oct. 17, 1959. From this union, there were three children, William Edward Davis, June Davis Waldo and Dawne Renee Davis.

With her three children, she leaves to remember with love: two sisters, Louisa R. Moore, Thelma M. Moore of Norfolk; one brother, Edward W. Murray of Virginia Beach; one son-in-law, Charles T. Waldo; one brother-in-law, Lester V. Moore Jr. of Norfolk; two grandsons, John A. Waldo and Joshua D. Waldo; numerous nieces and nephews; a special friend, ``Joe,'' and other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Friday at Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception by Father Walter Barrett and Father Thomas Quinlan. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
