MAX R. BARROW

Max Raymond Barrow, of the 2300 block of Drum Creek Road, died Dec. 23, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Barrow was born in Belhaven, N.C. He had retired from the Marine Dept. of the Gulf Oil Co. as an engineer after 35 years. He received the Merchant Marine Meritorious Service Medal.

Survivors include his wife, Helen W. Barrow; five sisters, Miriam Sumrell and Marilyne Orlando, both of Virginia Beach and Mary G. McLawhon of Summerville, S.C. and Carolyn Miltier and Geraldine Cuthriell, both of Chesapeake; a brother, Carroll G. Barrow of Chesapeake; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. George F. Mullinax. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. and other times at 2410 Drum Creek Road.
