Merritt Marcellus Creecy, 85, of the 300 block of Maryland Ave., died Dec. 23, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Creecy was a native of Norfolk, a retired supermarket manager after 40 years and a member of Port Norfolk Baptist Church, Tidal Wave Masonic Lodge (NU)273, Portsmouth Scottish Rite Bodies and Khedive Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine Smith Creecy; two sons, William B. Creecy and Robert P. Creecy, both of Portsmouth; two sisters, Pauline Wallace and Mable Rose, both of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Shawna Duncan and Brian Creecy.
A funeral with masonic rites will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, by Dr. Ector Hamrick. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Diabetes Institute of EVMS.
