JULIUS F. JONES SR.

Julius Fritz ``J.J. Tidewater Cowboy'' Jones Sr., 80, of the 100 block of Navajo Trail, died Dec. 25, 1994, in a Portsmouth hospital.

Mr. Jones was a native of New Bern, N.C. He was the widower of Libbie H. Jones and had retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a machinist. He was a member of Pinecrest Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Pauline Molohon of Newport News and Myrtle Fisher of Portsmouth; three sons, Bryan Jones of Vina, Calif., Julius F. Jones Jr. of Portsmouth and Stephen Jones of Davis, N.C.; a longtime companion, Rose Martin of Portsmouth; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Boulevard Chapel, by the Rev. Tom Potter. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 25 Loxley Road, Portsmouth.
