Margaret Lee Wellener, 74, of the 600 block of Redgate Ave., a retired statistical clerk, died Dec. 24, 1994, in Norfolk.
Miss Wellener was a native of Portsmouth and was the daughter of the late James Smith Wellener and Amanda Scott Wellener. She was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Cradock United Methodist Church in Portsmouth and was well known for her arts and crafts talents while residing in Portsmouth.
Survivors include a sister, Annie W. Rice of Huntsville, Ala.; a life-long friend, Paul Fischer of Portsmouth; three nephews; and the Fischer family that she made her own.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. George H. Close Jr. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to Cradock United Methodist Church or to Alzheimer's, 2974 Murray Ave., Norfolk, Va. 23518.
