Virginia Jennings Short, 70, of the first block of Vail Place, died Dec. 26, 1994, in her residence.
She was born in Jenkin Jones, W.Va.
Survivors include her husband, George Short Sr.; three daughters, Linda D. Shelton of Williamsburg, Betty D. Rose of Portsmouth and Janice D. Fentress of Hayes, Va.; two sons, George W. Short Jr. of Portsmouth and Douglas A. Short of Smithfield, Va.; a brother, William Jennings of Bluefield, W.Va.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rosewood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum by the Rev. Alan G. Moor. The family will receive friends at Snellings Funeral Home, George Washington Highway Chapel, from 4 to 6 p.m. today.
