RALPH R. GOODWIN

Ralph Richard Goodwin, 84, died Monday, Dec. 26, 1994, in the Chowan Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

A native of Chowan County, Mr. Goodwin was a son of the late Richard and Clara Lane Goodwin. He was the husband of the late Emmie Morris Goodwin who died in 1992. Mr. Goodwin was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 02 after working for 32 years. He was also a retired farmer and a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

Mr. Goodwin is survived by his two daughters, Jane G. Bunch of Tyner and Linda L. Goodwin of Elizabeth City; two sisters, Mae G. Lane of Tyner and Elizabeth G. Smith of Portsmouth; a brother, Murray Goodwin of Edenton; three grandchildren, Anna McCarthy of Elizabeth City, David Bunch and Richard Bunch, both of Tyner; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. today in Center Hill Baptist Church by the Rev. Don English. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will be at the residence of Carl and Jane Bunch in Tyner. Williford-Barham Funeral Home of Edenton is in charge of arrangements.
