MAN DROWNS IN RIVER: A 62-year-old Pasquotank County man has drowned after apparently falling into the Pasquotank River near his docked boat at the Pasquotank Yacht Club in Camden.
The body of Eugene L. Scott Jr. of Crystal Lake Drive was found floating near an embankment just north of the club about 4:30 p.m. Monday, Camden Sheriff's Deputy G.D. Edwards said.
Scott had left home to go to his boat late Monday morning. His wife went to look for him when he had not returned by midafternoon, Edwards said. Scott apparently had fallen into the water while climbing on or off the boat, Edwards said. His death was ruled accidental.
