POLICE SEEKING HELP IN SEARCH FOR MISSING BEACH WOMAN

Police are looking for a woman who has been missing for more than a week.

Teresa Tara Gladney, 30, of the 1000 block of Taylor Road, was last seen Dec. 18.

A friend told police she saw Gladney walking on Indian River Road in the Newlight area of the city about 4 a.m.

On Dec. 17 at 2 p.m., Gladney left her 9-year-old daughter with relatives in Norfolk.

She told them that she was going to meet her estranged husband, who was due in on a ship, in an attempt to reconcile with him.

Relatives said Gladney did not contact them on Christmas Day.

On Dec. 20 at 2 p.m., police said, the woman's mother found Gladney's home in disarray. A very small amount of blood also was found in the residence.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Gladney is described as black, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 140 pounds.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Det. Dennis Brown at 427-4101. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
