Jerry L. Getchey, 44, a marine electrician, died Dec. 28, 1994, in a local hospital.
He was formerly employed with Marine Hydraulics Inc., and was a native of Memphis, Tenn. He was a 1958 graduate of Norview High School and graduated from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard Apprentice School in 1972.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Getchey of Norfolk; one sister, Cheryl Blackwell of Newport News; one niece, Bari Blackwell of Newport News; and one nephew, Mason Blackwell of Newport News.
Holloman-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling the arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to one's favorite charity.
