CREW THAT JUMPED SHIP IN NEWPORT NEWS TO BE HOME BY JAN. 1:

Eleven Indonesian seafarers who fled their ship Dec. 19 in Newport News will be home for the new year.

The 11 Indonesians, alleging physical abuse from their Korean officers and saying they had not been paid all their wages, fled the bulk carrier K Prime, which sailed Dec. 21 after taking on a load of coal. The ship's owners sent the crew home Friday without resolving the back pay issue, according to a lawyer representing the crew. by CNB
