HARMONY'S UKRAINIAN LICENSEE BEGINS PRODUCTION

Harmony Products Inc., a Chesapeake-based organic fertilizer manufacturer, announced Wednesday that its Ukrainian licensee has had a successful start-up. Harmony entered into a licensing agreement in May 1992 with Engaro to help the Ukrainian company use Harmony's technology to convert organic waste, such as poultry litter, to organic fertilizer and cattle food supplements. Engaro's facility in Artemivsk, Ukraine, employs 53 people and is designed to produce 40,000 to 60,000 tons annually of organic-base fertilizer and animal food supplements, Harmony said.
