I was very pleased to read your editorial and the article on the Battle of the Bulge. It seems that somehow or other this has become a forgotten aspect of World War II, even if it was the largest and one of the most costly land battles ever fought by U.S. troops.
At this point, I do not want to add reminiscences, but I do want to add a word about the unfortunate GIs who were massacred in cold blood by SS troops at Malmedy. One of the great injustices of the war is that those guilty were never fully brought to justice.
Fifty years have passed, but this is not something that should be either forgiven or forgotten. Let us honor these victims' sacrifice and their memory.
