William Harry Massey of the 4800 block of Honeygrove Road, died Dec. 28, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
He was born in East St. Louis, Ill., and was the son of the late Harry Allen and Mary Elizabeth Massey. He was a Navy veteran, having served during World War II, was in construction for many years and was a member of the East Lodge No. 504 AF & AM Masonic Lodge of Fairview Heights, Ill. He was a spirit-filled Christian, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be deeply missed.
Survivors include his wife, Kathryn Jean and daughter, Vickie Jean of Virginia Beach; his son, William Scott and daughter-in-law, Deborah Ann; and two granddaughters, Dina Marie and Cathi Jean of Chesapeake; also, close family friends, Ellen Sutton and family.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by the memorial service at 3 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Frank Gunns at Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to a charity of the donor's choice or to help someone in need.
