Lillian A. Owens of the 1400 block of River Road, died Dec. 29, 1994, in Portsmouth General Hospital.
Mrs. Owens was born in Norfolk County and was the widow of Oliver H. Owens. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth. She was a deaconess and chairman of the deaconess board for six years and vice chairman for 10 years.
Survivors include two daughters, Grace O. Smaw of the Eastern Shore of Virginia and Glenis C. Owens of Virginia Beach; a son, Jerome T. Owens of Chesapeake; a sister, Minnie Hudgins of Norfolk; a brother, Randolph Arrington of Toledo, Ohio; and four grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 1995 in Zion Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Joseph L. Roberts. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday at Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Monday.
