A 25-year-old man was shot several times Wednesday night in the parking lot of a Towne Point Road apartment complex and died Thursday morning in Maryview Medical Center.
Timothy D. Shine of 101 Dale Drive in Portsmouth was pronounced dead shortly after 5 a.m., according to police.
Police were called to the 3700 block of Towne Point Road at 8:45 p.m. Wednesday when shots were heard and a man was reported wounded. Police found Shine lying in the parking lot. One of the wounds was to Shine's head.
A witness told police that she was walking her dog when she saw three men in the parking lot. One of the men appeared to be pleading with the other two, she said. Moments later, she said, she heard three gunshots and went inside to call police.
