William E. Davenport, 79, of Box 51, died Dec. 30, 1994, in Roanoke-Chowan Hospital in Ahoskie.
Mr. Davenport was born in Creswell, N.C., and retired as a security guard from Harrington Manufacturing Company.
He is survived by his wife, Ida C. Davenport; his two daughters, Jean Wielgorecki of Manchester, Mass., and Anita Davenport Ferrer of Chesapeake; his two sons, Clifton Davenport of Belhaven, N.C., and Lindsey Davenport of Virginia Beach; one sister, three brothers, 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Penny Wilson. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park in Norfolk.
The family will be at the funeral home on Monday from 7 to 8 p.m. and all other times at 1310 Edgewood Ave. in Chesapeake.
