Mary Alice Savage Story, 84, of Route 1, died Dec. 31, 1994, in Suffolk.
Mrs. Story was born in Gates County. The daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Noami Cross Savage, she was raised in Whaleyville. A homemaker, she was an active member of Cool Spring Baptist Church and a charter member of the Eure Extension Homemakers Club. She was the wife of the late Edward P. Story.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary S. Smoak of Clearwater, Fla.; one son, Edward S. Story of Eure; five grandchildren, Lisa C. Story, Mary Beth Story, Edith S. Wagner, Roy S. Smoak, and Kenneth E. Smoak; and two great-grandchildren, Karissa and Rikki Smoak.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in Cool Spring Baptist Church by the Rev. Horace Culpepper and the Rev. Tommy Hayes. Burial will follow in the Story Family Cemetery. Friends may join the family at the residence. Miller Funeral Home, Gatesville, is handling arrangements.
