Rachel Bunting Ohlinger, formerly of Virginia Beach, and widow of Earl F. Ohlinger Sr., died Jan. 1, 1995, after a long illness.
She was born Feb. 16, 1912, in Portsmouth.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John M. (Sandra) Hopkinson and a son, Earl F. Ohlinger Jr., both of Charlottesville; three grandchildren, John E. Hopkinson of Fairfax, William E. Hopkinson of Charlottesville and Mrs. Ashley H. Waters of Barboursville; one stepgranddaughter, Gloria Dudley; three great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and special lifelong friends; and a stepsister, Frances Copley of Virginia Beach.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Hill and Wood Funeral Home with the Rev. Byron Wilkinson officiating. Entombment will follow in the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Hopkinson's residence in Forest Lake. It is suggested that memorials be made in the form of contributions to either the American Diabetes Association of Virginia, 404 8th St. N.W., Charlottesville, Va. 22902, or the American Heart Association, 3025 Berkmar Drive, Charlottesville, Va. 22901.
