Birnishia Dawley Redding, 72, of the 900 block of Rugby St., a retired educator, died Jan. 1, 1995 at home.
She was born in Norfolk.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda Tole of Chesapeake and Faith Redding of Norfolk; a sister, Jannie Joyner of Norfolk; a brother, Edward Armstead Dawley II of El Cerito, Calif.; four grandchildren, Christina Birch, Adam Birch, David Birch and Zaire Tole of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Pretlow & Sons Funeral Home, Chesapeake, is handling arrangements.
