Rufus H. Langston, 73, of the 2800 block of Lambert Trail, died Jan. 2, 1995, in his residence.
Mr. Langston was a native of Wilson County, N.C. and was retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard as a mechanical inspector. He was a member of Pentecostal Holiness Church of South Norfolk and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy F. Langston; two daughters, Glenda Dail David of Moyock, N.C. and Cathy Langston Johnson of Chesapeake; a son, James Oliver Langston of Smyrna, Tenn.; two sisters, Belle Sandefur of Highview, W.Va. and Mildred Hinson of Wilson; four brothers, Earl Hamm of Chesapeake, James Hamm of High Point, N.C., Arthur Hamm of Rocky Mount, N.C., and Jimmie Hamm of Gloucester; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
