Sadie B. Crandel, 83, of the 400 block of W. 26th St., died Jan. 1, 1995, in her home.
Mrs. Crandel was born in Newburn, N.C. She was a homemaker and the widow of John D. Crandel. She was a member of New Bethlehem Church of Christ Disciples and a member of the female Usher Board, Number One. She was preceded in death by her father, George T. West.
Survivors include a son, Zebedee West of Petersburg, Va.; six grandchildren, Portia W. Turpin of Disputanta, Va., Anthony G. West of Charlotte, N.C., Mark A. West of Phoenix, Ariz., Geoffrey L. West of Petersburg, Va., Timothy I. West of California and Philip A. West, USAF Korea; six great-grandchildren; and one step-granddaughter, Carolyn L. Grissett of Petersburg, Va.
A funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Philip E. Knight Sr. on Friday at 1 p.m. at Hale Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home Friday at 12:45 p.m. for service.
