Amy Beth McCusker, the 5-month-old daughter of Jeff and Andi McCusker, died on Jan. 2 at the Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
Amy was born on July 28, 1994, in Virginia Beach and attended Atlantic Shores Baptist Church with her family.
During her short lifetime, Amy accomplished many things. No one who cradled her in their arms was left untouched by her innocence. She taught us that each day of life is a gift; that true love is unconditional; and that what makes life precious are the little joys shared by a family - a brief smile, a lingering look into Grandma's eyes, and countless hugs and kisses.
In addition to her parents, Amy is survived by her sister, Erin Leslie McCusker, and two brothers, Daniel Jeffrey McCusker and David Thomas McCusker, all of Chesapeake; her grandparents, Jack and Nancy Davis, Jack and Mydra Maier, and David and Peg Cottrill; and numerous aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles and friends.
Friends may express their love to the family tonight from 7 to 9:30 p.m. at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Bridge Chapel, 524 Cedar Road, in Chesapeake.
Amy's funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in the funeral home chapel. The service will be conducted by the Rev. Jim Wolfcale and the Rev. George Sweet of Atlantic Shores Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and by the Rev. Gary Glanville of Northwest Baptist Church, Reisterstown, Md. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens, also on Cedar Road.
Memorial donations may be made to any of the following organizations: S.O.F.T. (Support Organization for Trisomy 18, 13 and Related Disorders), c/o Karen Dewey, 710 Melville Ave., W. Burlington, Iowa 52655, EDMARC Hospice for Children, P.O. Amy, our beloved, our little angel girl, you were a gift from God. May the Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you. May He give you peace. We love you.
