SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

The crimes listed here were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.

DISTRICT A

Attempted motor vehicle theft, 6700 block Whitewood St., Dec. 24, someone broke out left rear door vent window of a 1983, 4-door Cadillac Fleetwood and attempted to start vehicle via steering column.

Attempted motor vehicle theft, 6100 block Hunters Court, Dec. 24, someone attempted to steal 1978, 4-door Oldsmobile Delta 98 by prying open the steering column.

Breaking and entering (house), 5900 block Bradford Drive, Dec. 26, person(s) broke window or rear door, entered residence and removed two Advent stereo speakers, one Fisher stereo receiver, a Bulova watch, a Seiko watch and a man's birthstone ring.

DISTRICT B

Hit and run, Route 10/Burnetts Way, Dec. 22, a young woman driving a small red car with 30-day tags pulled out of Burnetts Way into traffic in front of victim who was northbound on Route 10. Driver swerved to avoid collision and struck stop sign while suspect drove away.

Breaking and entering (church), 2600 block Godwin Blvd., Dec. 23, unknown suspect(s) entered church by breaking the north side window and removed one wheeled safe, gray in color with combination lock. A small gray money box and a GE VCR was also removed.

Breaking and entering (house), 6700 Everetts Road, Dec. 25, person(s) entered residence by unknown means and removed a man's and lady's gold and diamond wedding ring set, a man's black onyx with diamond cluster ring, a man's gold and diamond wedding ring, and a .38 revolver pistol.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle, 4400 block Godwin Blvd., Dec. 27, family member removed 2-door, white 1988 Ford Mustang with dented right front fender without permission.

DISTRICT C

Armed robbery, 800 block Washington St., Dec. 23, a black male, approximately 5-foot-7, 140 pounds, with brown eyes and medium skin tone entered Sentry Food Mart and demanded all $10 and $5 bills from register. He appeared to have a weapon concealed under coat.

Breaking and entering (church), 700 block Ashley Ave., Dec. 25, unknown person(s) broke into church's back door, removed two pre-amps and fled.

Breaking and entering (attempt), 100 block North Saratoga St., Dec. 25, suspect(s) broke out north window and exited the front store door.

Strong-arm robbery, 1200 block Holland Road, Dec. 26, a black male, approximately 5-foot-8 wearing glasses approached passenger and driver in grocery store parking lot demanding money. Suspect taped victims' hands and removed contents of purses.

Grand larceny, 400 block West Railroad Ave., Dec. 27, unknown person(s) entered truck through rear sliding window and removed a black Taurus PT-99, 9mm handgun, with brown wooden grips. A Central Fidelity Bank book with two withdrawal slips was also removed.

Attempted breaking and entering (business), 300 block North Main St., between Dec. 21 and 22, unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain entry to athletic office doors of Recreation Center causing $600 worth of damage.

Breaking and entering, 900 block N. Main St., Dec. 27, juveniles pried locks and hasps off shed and removed one white and orange razor. Juveniles were apprehended.

Grand larceny, 600 block Butler Ave., Dec. 28, unknown person(s) entered vehicle by breaking driver's side window. One Kenwood CD player, two Kenwood amplifiers and four DVL speakers were removed.

Petit larceny, 300 block Linden Ave., Dec. 28, Suffolk city decal and Virginia state inspection sticker were removed from vehicle.

DISTRICT D

Breaking and entering (house), 500 block Ockawaha Ave., Dec. 22, person(s) entered home by unknown means and removed one VCR, three games (Trouble, Jinga and Operation), and $30 in change.

Petit larceny, 1300 block Blythewood Lane, between Dec. 21 and 22, person(s) removed state license tag from vehicle.

Unauthorized use of vehicle, 2500 block East Washington St., Dec. 22, family member removed gray 1988 Toyota Corolla without permission.

Petit larceny, 200 Carolina Ave., between Dec. 21 and 22 person(s) removed front and rear state license plates from vehicle parked at gas station.

Armed robbery, East Over Exxon, Dec. 23, two black males approached victim and demanded money using handguns. Victim's wallet containing $200 and beeper were taken.

Lost/stolen tags, 100 block Walnut St., Dec. 24, person reported that front license plate was either lost or stolen.

Breaking and entering (house), 100 block Nancy Drive, Dec. 24, person(s) gained entry by forcing open north side front door and removed one Super Nintendo, one comb blow dryer and two food items.

Armed robbery, 400 block Spruce St., suspect, Johnny Parrish, a 6-foot-2 black male weighing approximately 165 pounds with black hair, brown eyes and light skin, approached victim and produced a small semi-automatic handgun and demanded money. Victim backed away and suspect lunged and struck with handgun. Victim handed over $30 and suspect fled.

Breaking and entering (house), 700 block Halifax St., Dec. 24, suspect(s) attempted to pry open front door, then forced open rear door and removed one GE 20-inch television and one JVC VCR.

Motor vehicle theft, 1000 block Truman Road, Dec. 25, a green, 4-door 1994 Dodge Shadow was taken.

Breaking and entering (church), 400 block Webb St., unknown suspect(s) gained access to church by prying open front door. Nothing removed.

Breaking and entering (church), 200 block Webb St., unknown suspect(s) gained entry by prying open right front door. Nothing removed.

Motor vehicle theft, 200 block Charlotte Ave., Dec. 25, person(s) removed vehicle (since recovered in Portsmouth). Evidence of glass-breaking was located on ground where vehicle was parked.

Breaking and entering (house), 200 block Woodrow Ave., Dec. 25, unknown suspect(s) entered house through front door of screen patio house located in the rear of the residence and removed one Sony microwave oven. Located within the oven were two house keys and a mace keychain.

Grand larceny, 400 block Spruce St., Dec. 26, person went to vacant location and discovered that one 65,000 BTU Thermolrie gas heater, one bathroom vanity, and one Kenmore electric stove were missing. Residence was also vandalized.

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle, Lewis Avenue, Dec. 26, a family member was loaned a beige 1976 Olds 98 to be brought back in an hour and has not been seen since.

Breaking and entering (house), 1000 block Nansemond Parkway, Dec. 26, known suspect entered apartment and removed leather coat and numerous items of clothing.

Assault and battery, 1200 block White Marsh Road, Dec. 27, known suspect assaulted victim, hitting person over left eye.

Breaking and entering (residence), 100 block Kilby Court, Dec. 27, known suspect kicked in front door and removed items from location.

Petit larceny, 100 block Tynes St., Dec. 28, unknown person(s) removed both Virginia state license plates from vehicle being repaired at garage. Two 14-inch tires with rims were also removed from a Buick Century.

DISTRICT E

Breaking and entering, 4000 block Deerpath Road, between Dec. 22 and 28, unknown suspect(s) pried open front door of a shed and removed one Nissan 4-horsepower generator. by CNB
