L. Warner Dashiell Sr., 54, of 9126 Old Stage Highway, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995.
Mr. Dashiell, a native of Isle of Wight, was a farmer. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Smithfield, and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was chairman of the Virginia Pork Industry Board, chairman of the Isle of Wight Academy Board of Directors, past president of Southeast Pork Producers, chairman of Smithfield Ducks Unlimited Chapter and member and past commander of American Legion, George F. Dashiell Post 49.
Survivors include his wife, Shelly Butler Dashiell; daughter, Jamie Elizabeth Dashiell; two sons, L. Warner Dashiell Jr. and George Thomas Dashiell; mother, Nancy Warner Dashiell; two brothers, Thomas L. Dashiell III and Jerry E. Dashiell Sr., all of Smithfield.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. today in Colonial Funeral Home, Smithfield. The family will receive friends immediately afterwards. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Ivy Hill Cemetery, Smithfield. The Rev. Jay Ashby and the Rev. Robert F. Cofield will officiate. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to The Isle of Wight Academy, P.O. Box 105, Isle of Wight, Va. 23397.
