A story about pilots' concern for safety at small airports was
missing in some editions of Wednesday's MetroNews section. The story
is being rerun today on Page B5.
John C. Salvi III is charged in Norfolk with shooting into an
occupied building. A story Wednesday about the Hillcrest Clinic
shooting erroneously said he was charged with shooting into an
occupied dwelling. Both are felonies but a dwelling usually refers
to a home.
A story Wednesday about proposed changes to mental health care in
Virginia Beach should have referred to the Virginia Medicaid
program, not Medicare. Also, the same story should have said the
Virginia Beach Community Services Board was set up in 1970 and
serves about 6,700 people a year.
An abortion clinic protester was misquoted in a caption
Wednesday. The protester, who identified herself as ``Joan of
Hampton Roads,'' said, ``If the church stood up for the babies, the
violence of abortion would end.''
Effie L. Mucklevene, who was killed when her parked car jumped
into gear and rolled over her in Norfolk, was misidentified in a
MetroNews story Wednesday.
Kinky Friedman wrote a book titled ``Elvis, Jesus & Coca-Cola.''
The title was wrong in a Daily Break column Wednesday.
A headline in Tuesday's World News section should have said ``Key
group - Bosnian Croats - joins truce.'' Bosnian Serbs, mentioned in
the original headline, were already part of the truce.
