Police said the three youths, ages 16, 17 and 18, were on the train as it headed north on CSX tracks near the Beaconsdale subdivision.
The 18-year-old was listed in critical condition in a hospital.
Police said the three climbed onto the train behind the Randolph Apartments, then either jumped or fell off when the train speeded up.
