GARLAND TRUSSELL

Garland Trussell, 77, of Rt. 2, a retired Naval officer and real estate developer, died Tuesday, Jan. 3, 1995 at Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

Mr. Trussell, son of the late Walter and Nettie Trussell, was born on Aug. 24, 1917, in Star City, Ark. A Methodist, he was a Navy Commander during World War II, as well as a P.O.W.

Mr. Trussell is survived by his wife, Florine Leek Trussell of the home; one son, Garland Trussell Jr., of Nags Head, N.C.; two daughters, Marta Stiver and Debby Cotten, both of Columbia, S.C.; one sister, Kathryn Rhodes of Carthage, Texas; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Saturday, Jan. 7 at 2 p.m. in Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City, Ark., Bro. Jim Rhodes, presiding. Interment will be in Leek Cemetery.
