Alta Mae Wagner Fischler, 75, passed away January 6, 1995, at Sentara Leigh. Mrs. Fischler was the wife of John Fischler, III, of 1716 Loxham Way, Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Fischler was the daughter of Clemens Wagner and Abbie Jane Opp Wagner, both deceased, of Turbotville, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Fischler graduated from Muncy-Muncy Creek High School in 1937. She also graduated from Pott's Business College in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
She is survived by a son, James Charles Wilson of Greenwich, New York, and a daughter Jacque Lynn Mitchell of Virginia Beach. She also is survived by five grand children, and her husband, John.
In addition Mrs. Fischler is survived by two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Walter (Mary) Hoffman, of Washingtonville, Pennsylvania, Mrs. Richard (Arbuta) Boothman, of East Petersburg, Pennsylvania, Mr. Wilbur Wagner of Lairdsville, Pennsylvania, and Mr. Arthur Wagner, of Rochester, Minnesota.
Mrs. Fischler was a home-maker, and had retired from K-Mart in Hamilton, Ohio.
Alta's remains will be cremated, and the ashes will be interred in the Fischler family plot in the Montoursville Cemetery, located in Montoursville, Pennsylvania.
There will be no services in the Tidewater area, but there will be a memorial service at the Spitler Funeral Home located on Main Street, Montoursville, Pennsylvania.
The family requests that donations be made to the Virginia Beach SPCA, in lieu of flowers.
