VIRGINIA M. COCKRELL

Virginia McDaniel Cockrell, of The Ballentine, died Jan. 6, 1995, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, Mrs. Cockrell was the widow of Sylvan J. Cockrell. She was a member of First Lutheran Church and an honorary member of Norfolk City Union of the Kings Daughters.

Survivors include a daughter, Marie Cockrell of Norfolk; a son, Sam Cockrell of Chesapeake; two sisters, Marguerite M. Dawson of Towson, MD; Marie M. Burckard of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Samantha and Mark Cockrell.

A memorial service will be held at First Lutheran Church in Norfolk at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9. The family will receive friends and guests in the church reception room following the memorial service. Donations may be made to First Lutheran Church, 1301 Colley Ave., Norfolk, VA, 23517 or to a charity of your choice.
