GLORIA M. BRIDDELL-MITNAUL

Gloria Marie Briddell-Mitnaul, affectionately called ``Oyie'' by her brothers and sisters, departed this life and went to live with God on Saturday morning Jan. 7, 1995. Gloria was born the second child of Willie Mae and Irving L. Briddell in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She attended the Philadelphia Parochial School system. She furthered her education at Temple University.

Gloria accepted the Lord as her savior at an early age and was baptized into the Christian Faith. She loved attending her church, The Unity Church of Tidewater. There at Unity, Gloria made many friends. Friendship making was an asset of Gloria's. She made many long-lasting friendships.

Most of her employment was in the social work disciplines. She met and married Earl T. Mitnaul in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1958. This union was richly blessed with three children. Her husband's employment moved from Philadelphia to the Tidewater area, where the family made their home in 1967 - first in Portsmouth and later in Virginia Beach.

Gloria loved and enjoyed life. Having fun was part of her outlook on life.

Gloria leaves to cherish fond memories, her children, Gloria Iris Vickers, Earl T. Mitnaul, Jr. and Alan Troy Mitnaul; a granddaughter, LaShelle; a son-in-law, Andre Vickers; a sister, Elva Mae Lane, of McKee City, NJ; two brothers, Irving L. Briddell, Jr. of Turnersville, NJ, and Harold C. Briddell of Philadelphia, PA. She also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

The memorial service will be held at noon Thursday at Unity Church of Tidewater by the Rev. Joyce Kramer. The family will be at the residence, 6316 Barnard Way, Virginia Beach. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian River Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. Interment will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 7 to 9:00 p.m.
