Police are investigating a fight that broke out early Saturday at an after-hours club where a party was being held for television sitcom star Martin Lawrence.
Lawrence was at the club at the time, but police don't believe he was involved in the incident.
Police spokesman Mike Carey said police learned of the incident at the Professional Club, in the 100 block of Witchduck Road, after a man was taken to Sentara Bayside Hospital with a head injury.
The man, identified as Fentreal Ferebee, 28, of the 5700 block of West Hastings Arch, said he had been hit in the head during a fight between 1:15 a.m. and 1:30 a.m.
Carey said investigators were interviewing witnesses Saturday evening..
It was unclear whether the club was open only to those attending the Lawrence party or if regular club members were admitted as well.
