Garnah C. ``Winnie'' Mitchell, 68, of the 8800 block of Carters Cove Road and a former resident of Newport News, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 1995, in Riverside Hospital.
Survivors include her husband, Cullen A. Mitchell; two daughters, Donna J. LaVoie of Duluth, Ga. and Linda C. Millan of Suffolk; five sisters, Montrial Kitts and Janice Foster, both of Suffolk and Zelma Vincent of Jacksonville, Fla., Reble Smith of Atlanta, Ga. and Joan Wilbourn of Asheville, N.C.; and five grandchildren, Stephen and David LaVoie, Barbara, Colin and Skip Millan.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Meadowbrook Mausoleum Chapel by Dr. Roger W. Jackle. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennetts Creek Chapel, Suffolk, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to Riverside Hospice, 500 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., or to the American Cancer Society.
