MILDRED W. HASTIE

Mildred White Hastie, 80, formerly of Pinehurst, a homemaker, died Jan. 7, 1995, in a Suffolk nursing home.

Mrs. Hastie was a native of West Pittston, Pa. She was the widow of Lewis C. Hastie and was a 50-year member of Monumental United Methodist Church. She was a longtime member and former president of Green Pines Garden Club, former member of the Portsmouth Womans Club and the Scottish Society of Tidewater. She was predeceased by her daughter, Carole Hastie Lodge.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy L. Gallina of Cleveland, Ohio and Margaret Hastie Swartley of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Lewis C. Hastie Jr. of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Monumental United Methodist Church. Burial will be private. Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at the Swartley home, 4608 Wake Forest Road, Portsmouth, following the memorial service and from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
