Robert Lee Cherry Sr., of the 2600 block of Keller Ave., a retired construction worker, died Jan. 6, 1995, in DePaul Medical Center.
Mr. Cherry was born in Norfolk. He had retired from Virginia Natural Gas after 30 years. He had been retired for four years and was the widower of Margaret S. Cherry. He was a former member of Antioch Baptist Church and was predeceased by his parents, Maggie Cherry and William Cherry.
Survivors include two daughters, Sheila Cherry and Robin McCoy, both of Norfolk; three sons, Robert L. Cherry Jr., Michael Cherry Sr. and James Cherry Sr., all of Norfolk; two sisters, Patricia Jackson of Chesapeake and Cynthia Cherry of Portsmouth; two brothers, William Cherry of Atlanta, Ga., and James Cherry of Orange, N.J.; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Mr. Cherry also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Charles Moore. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park.
